The Victoria Memorial: Heritage of Kolkata

The Victoria Memorial is a beautiful white marble architecture in Kolkata. It will take long time to built. The architecture started to build in the year 1906 and completed in 1921 under the reign of British India. This architecture dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria. It is now a museum and a beautiful tourist destination. It is situated in the heart of Kolkata and bank of the Hooghly river. Lots of similarity with The Tajmahal you will find after visiting this architecture. Victoria Memorial built with 
white Makrana marble like The Tajmahal. Tajmahal built in memory of Mumtajmahal (wife of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan) and Victoria Memorial built in memory of Queen Victoria. 

Outer part of this place decorated with beautiful lawn and with a beautiful lake. Lots of different types of plants and flowers are really eye catching experience. It's a really awesome experience to visit here.

Historic Place Ambika Kalna: Famous for Beautiful Architectures

Ambika Kalna (popularly known as Kalna) is a small town of Burdwan or Bardhaman district of West Bengal. The town situated on the western bank of river Ganga or Bhagirathi. From the Goddess Kali's name Maa Ambika the town's name known as Ambika Kalna. The town is very famous among the tourists due to very old architectures. Any one can reach this city through trains from Sealdah and Howrah or through bus from Esplanade, Kolkata. You will reach Kalna from Kolkata within 4 hours by train or bus.  

Must see places in Ambika Kalna:

108 Shiva Temples: It is also known as the Navakailasha temple. The temple complex built in the year 1809. The temple complex built in two circles with 108 Shiva Lingas in the temple.

 

Pratapeshwar Temple: The temple named after King Pratap Chand and built in the year 1849. Rich terracotta ornamentation in the temple structures found. 

Lalji Temple: The temple built in the year 1739 by the wife of Maharaja Jagat Ram named Braja Kishori Devi. It is a Radha-Krishna temple and in front of the temple situted a Natmandir or a dancing hall.

Rash Mancha of Lalji temple: To arrange rash leela of Lord Krishna.

Big double roofed architecture Shyamchand Temple in Shantipur

We are all know that Santipur is well known for manufacturing of textile garments. Santipur is a small city and situated in Nadia district of West Bengal. Other than textile Santipur also known as centre of olden arts and culture. Here you will find lots of very old temples. Here I will discuss about my visit of Shyamchand Temple. It is a very old temple. As per local folks age of this temple more than 500 years. Beautiful architecture with well maintained temple space anytime catch your eyes. I spent 2 hours here in my visit and believe me how such a log time passed I didn't feel. You will see big aath-chala double roofed architecture of this temple in your visit. It's really awesome and such a big architecture help you think about the olden times process of making this huge temple. This temple is also famous for the beautiful idols Radha-Krishna. 

Stunning architecture of Shyamchand Temple

In every evening temple authority arranges program about Geeta reading, harinam sangkirtan and some other engagements. Lots of devotees come and attend everyday here and closely watch this. Also in special days like Jhulan-Yatra, Dol Purnima (Holi) and Rashyatra temple authority conducted special programs. During these period temple spaces decorated with lights and other decoration items. It's really a worthy visit for me.
